Is the sitter paid if an owner cancels?

I have asked this question of Rover. com but the answer is not clear I'm confused about the three different types and how it pertains to me. I'm sure it is a matter of semantics, but nevertheless...

I have the same type of question.. I was supposed to dog sit in their home from September 1st-9th. They just cancelled on me on the 30th at 6pm. Do I still get compensation?

There are three types of refund policies which would affect whether you received any compensation for a cancellation: Flexible, Moderate or Strict. Another factor is when the cancellation occurs. According to your profile, you have selected Moderate for boarding and Flexible for daycare.

So, if a customer has hired you to board their dog and cancels by noon the day before it is supposed to begin, then they get a FULL refund. They can cancel anytime after that, then they get 50% back for 7 days and 100% refund for all days thereafter, if it is a long stay. What isn't refunded, you would receive, less Rover's 15%.

The Flexible policy you have for daycare is a bit more lenient, as you would expect and works in a similar fashion, only that cancellations with a full refund can occur anytime prior to the start of the job.

You can read about it here, but is likely exactly what the Rover staff sent you.
