It might dry out your pets skin though, so make sure to bathe them in the Dawn first and then with something more soothing, like an oatmeal bath or shea butter based. Comfortis, an oral flea pill, also works very very well, if your pets have seen the vet within the past year. Another thing you could try is to get some Diatomaceous Earth, food grade, and spread that into your carpets, leave it overnight, and then vacuum it up. But it HAS to be food grade, not pool grade.

Dawn dish soap mixed with salt to make a paste, double wammy, the salt dehydrates the fleas and they hate dawn. Sprinkle damaceous earth on carpets and let sit or you can also use salt. Then vaccum (repeat). Make sure you empty vaccum cleaner immediately. Wash floors, bedding and pets. I used monthly advantage for dogs. If you have cats, make sure cats are kept away until dry on dog as it can be hazardous to feline friends. Cats have their own version of advantage.

I have tried them all. What works for me- first and foremost, feed a raw diet. DE food grade on all carpets and floors over night,then vacuum up. vacuum DAILY( I cannot stress that enough), put Geraniol (or with Neem) collar on the dog as flea repellent, shampoo as needed (it does not matter which shampoo, it is the suffocation that kills the fleas).
