How can we get to know other Rover sitters in our area?

I have been with Rover for about 2 years now and I think it would be nice to compare opinions with other sitters.

I love the Facebook group and this Q&A community. I'm not a regular contributor but I get so much out of reading through the different threads. I've have reached our to several sitters in my area but it was pretty clunky using the contact button. Plus I think at least one or two thought that I was attempting to spy. I would love to meet other sitters to refer as backups to regular clients when I am not available. I put in a support ticket to Rover asking about this but they also suggested the contact button. Maybe if more folks ask we will get a better response. I also put this in as a Big Idea to maybe that will get a little attention :)

I totally agree with you. I've worked a little to get in touch with a couple sitters around me, but it's not worth the effort. (And yeah, I think one thought I was attempting to spy or do something weird.) Now I just refer them to Rover's Customer Line and let them deal with it.

Hey Dawn, it's not a perfect solution, but you can always reach out to other sitters in your area using the Rover contact form. Maybe take some time to craft a "Reach out" email and send it to some folks in your area (maybe by zip code) along the lines of " Hi , I'm also a Rover sitter in the area and would love to chat with you sometime about _" Maybe you could set up a meetup or coffee group in your area if there was enough interest?

Hope this helps~

This has been brought up in the past by other sitters who feel the same. You may want to pass your suggestion on to Rover support so someone at the company sees it; very few employees from Rover corporate participate on this message board.

You can also go onto Facebook and join the group Rover.com: Sitter's Social Network here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/28029...

It is a private group that I created over a year ago that was created specifically for this purpose before the Q&A Community was created on Rover. We have 128 members right now and still growing. You may find someone in your neighborhood if you live in a big city, but if not you may still get lucky. I am always inviting people from my neighborhood to join on Rover and hopefully, more from other places will join now that there is the Rover Q&A.

Please have your Rover URL created to verify your Rover account when an admin messages you. We would love to have you join us!
