If a Rover discount code ($30 off your first stay) is used, does that come out of the sitter's cut?

Or does that come out of what Rover would make?

Comments

I did not receive the $30 Rover discount card for the first day I cannot find the link from barkhappy where they said it would be. Any help would be appreciated I have not booked to stay yet because the first sitter never showed up for the meet and greet visit & never contacted me back to reschedule

The way coupon codes work is:

  1. Sometimes Rover has coupon codes they put out for xyz amount. When a client uses it, it does NOT come from our payout -- Rover covers it for us.

  2. When you give someone a discount code to use, if they use it to book you, you don't really benefit financially outside of getting a new client.

  3. When you give someone a discount code to use, if they use it to book someone else, you get $10 from Rover.

Rover NEVER takes out anything over the 15% + any donations you have set up to organizations. When they give the client a discount, the company absorbs that cost, not the sitters. If you give a discount by manually entering it into your booking, that discount comes from YOU, not the company.

It comes from Rover, not the sitter.

Also, your code can be used with any Rover sitter; even if you don't end up as the host, the client will still receive the discount AND you get a little bonus from Rover - I think it's $10.
