Recaptured funds?

An owner selected a service with a specified start and end time. I fulfilled my obligation to the contract, have proof of every timestamped message, and timestamped Google timelines as to when I arrived(early), walked the dog multiple times, picture messages showing the dog sleeping and using my legs as a pillow stating that he just ate and has now passed out, and finally a timestamp of when I drove away from their house at the designated time at which point the owner had arrived home 15 minutes prior to the cut off time.

I noticed there was a recapture in my bank account because the owner sent an email stating that the stay was either shortened or cancelled. No. It wasn't! Why did I not receive any sort of notification about this? I spent 12 hours watching her pet only to have just about every dollar reimbursed to the owner.

This owner was from out of town and most likely this is a one time use for them and they completely screwed me over to watch their dog, basically for free. This wasn't a small dog... it was a 7 month old 100+ lb. Bulldog/Mastiff that was wild. In what way is this acceptable? You've instantly taken the owners word without even bringing the issue up with me. I only found out because I looked at my bank account and saw a chargeback with no explanation.
