Have the Pet owners ever contacted you just to waste your time or is it just me?

Hello everyone! I know the title might be a little off-putting but allow me to explain. Lately, I get inbox messages from owners wanting to book me, and I respond back instantly, but I get no response back from the owners. Is that a normal thing that I have to get used to?

I don’t know if they intend to waste your time.

From using the Rover system to try to locate a sitter, I know that after sending a message/request, the system automatically prompts/suggests sending a message to another sitter, and then another, and it goes on. After contacting several/many sitters, It is common that a possible future client might not contact those who weren’t booked with an update. However, once they message you, you can message them back through the system and ask if there’s an update to their pet needs. If the inquiry doesn’t even seem legitimate, there is a symbol to report the message for rover staff to look into and you could call rover directly if you think a message is a scam.
