I didn't accept a booking yet, but the after the meet and greet, the client did, and now it's booked..why?

I am new to Rover and though I understood everything pretty well

I have two people in my "pending" where it says "Pending their response". I did the meet and greet with both, and so I have to wait for them to accept....right?

But neither of these clients did I accept their booking....I don't recall having that option - all I did was scehdule a Meet and Greet to see if we were a good fit.

One of them, I met the dog and I emailed the lady to tell her, she really needs to hire me for a few walks, because the dog does not feel safe with strangers, and needs to get to know me before I stay in her house for several days. I told we needed to actually do a trial run of me coming into the house to get her, and take her for a walk - before the vacation - so that we know the dog will let me do this. This dog has never had a house sitter or rarely been alone.

Well this morning I got a message "H has booked the stay".

I am still not ready to approve this stay....why has this happened - I thought it was up me to accept clients?

Now I am forced to message her and be like "look...this still needs to be pending until to have me work with the dog"

Should I call rover about this?

Unless you accept a booking, it is NOT booked, no matter what that message from Rover says. With a finalized booking, you get an itinerary. If you didn't get one, then it is not booked.

After a M&G, I might "accept" a booking if all goes well. Then it goes back to the pet owner to confirm . That's the process.

I called Rover and the said I must have accepted in by accident. Which, hmmm, I am new to using the platform, but was very aware of the process, especially because I knew this was an anxious dog who might not be a good fir for a housesitter. The owner has actually been understanding.
