should I tip my set sitter?

I was just wondering should I tip my pet sitter. They set their own rate for sitting?

If your happy But mostly if your pup is happy when he comes home. And you feel they were safe and cared for properly, it only makes sense to tip them. Rover takes a large fee from the sitters payment. Tips compensate for that.

Yes. As long as they took great care of him/her

I tip My Boarders in cash. Helen L

Well it’s appreciated immensely! I put all of my time and energy into creating a safe comfortable and enjoyable environment for each of my Rovers! We go above and beyond, not for tips, because we love doing what we do! A tips just a gladly accepted thank you.

If the sitter has done their due diligence in caring for your pet. Including meet and greet, following instructions, caring for your home while you're away, leaving your home exactly like it was when you left, communicating with you with updates/pictures during the stay. And overall, if you are happy with their care and your pet was lovingly cared for. Reviews and testimonials are just as important as tips. Both are greatly appreciated and create good will and good relations between you and the sitter. Having a good, reliable sitter is worth the tip.

I compensate my sitter similarly to other people that make my life easier, housekeeper Gardener etc. I give them $100 gift card or cash at Christmas and that seems to be appreciated. That way I don’t think about it each time.

True, but they do not receive the full amount. Rover takes at least 20%. People tip babysitters and they set their own rates, don't they?

I was tipped for the first time from a repeat client and it was (like said above) an unexpected surprise. Took me about 20 minutes to finally figure out where the extra cash came from, but finally noticed it in our chat box . it sweet and I thanked the client. I didn’t know clients can tip nor did it really cross my mind cause I set my own rates although rover does take out that 20% I do cringe when I see that coming from someone who just paid 600 dollars or more. I know I couldn’t get the gig without rover and I’m thankful for that, I just wish rover would consider the amount of time and responsibilities you put into each pet and maybe lower that (networking fee I like to call it) when the dollar amount is a bit higher than what we regularly see. It’s not like I can count on getting that fee every month. 120 dollar fee is a lot for one animal in one month. Just an opinion. Wow that was off topic. I say yes tip Julie sitter if they met you and your pets expectations and more.

It's always an unexpected appreciation of your opinion of the care the sitter gave to your dog.
