Hi, how long is a dog walk?

I know a walker might charge $20 a walk but how long/far is that walk?

The standard amount of time is 30 minutes total. However, some sitters offer longer walks for another price. Check their rate tables to see if the longer one is available.

It all depends on the of dog, length of time and realistic expectations you have or want for the length you want tour dog walked. A 30 minute walk taking into account picking up, getting out the door and dropping off is realistically a 25 minute outside walk. A little over a mile is most likely average. You can ask if you want Walker to run if you have active dog etc... you're the client. Asking Walker directly and letting know what you want is always best. If you are asking for somewhat non traditional requests then $25-30 is about right for a walker who is reliable and has been doing for sometime. Usually get what you pay for in terms of quality and satisfaction.

I'm not a paid dog walker, but I do walk a lot of dogs on a regular basis. I agree with you. Dogs love to walk, but they also enjoy stopping to sniff, mark, and do their business, which takes a little time. Speaking with the walker about expectations is great advice!
