Do you walk a dog in the rain during a house sitting booking?

I am currently doing a house sitting booking and the owner requested I walk their dog twice a day. For reference, this is a five-day booking.

It's rained all day. The dog doesn't seem to like the rain. I was going to try to walk the dog when it was sprinkling, but as soon as I got outside, the rain got significantly heavier. I didn't discuss this specifically with the owner, but she seemed pretty lax and I doubt it would bother her. I still feel somewhat bad. I walked the dog yesterday and plan on walking him the next few days assuming it doesn't rain all day. I also did not bring any type of jacket suitable for the rain.

Of course you have to walk the dog in rain, sunshine and snow. My dog doesn't like to get wet at all, but we go out when the rain has either stopped or is merely drizzling. If it is coming down in torrents, you wait. You are staying at the home, so I don't understand why this is such a big deal.

Also, if you don't have the proper rain gear with you, then go home and get it. Do not use anything of the owners' without their express permission.

Most dogs I’ve known do not like walking in the rain. In addition to watching weather forecast to plan and take walks when it’s lighter rain and having routes I take to minimize exposure, if I’m house sitting or walking dog in it’s neighborhood, I’d ask the owner for any tips where they suggest their dog walked.

That conversation usually happens prior to booking, but you certainly can send a friendly message during a booking along the lines of “(rover-name) seems to dislike walking in the rain- do you have a usual route that you’d recommend to minimize (name) getting wet?”
