Why does my dog have accidents when He is being dog-sat?

I have a 9 month old puppy who is potty trained - apt. living - rings bells on door to go out. But when I leave for a night and have someone stay at my home to dog-sit, he will not poop outside when taken out, but poops inside.

I know I can kennel train him, but wondering if anyone has suggestions or knowledge as to why my dog does this, and/or suggestions for solving this problem.

Comments

Because its not being watched or worse.

My hunch is that it’s due to his nerves / anxieties. Who is this in my home ? Where did my parent go, why, when will return?

It’s great that you’re having the sitter stay in your home with puppy because that’s less disruptive to routine.

Dogs may have accidents in the home due to an inadequate number of potty breaks or under-lying medical issues. Bladder stones, Cushing’s disease, diabetes, kidney disease, spinal-cord injuries, tumors, and urinary tract infections are among the possible medical causes for accidents in the home. If you suspect your dog is having accidents because they may have an under-lying medical issue, we recommend scheduling an appointment with your dog’s veterinarian for proper diagnosis and treatment. https://www.durhamgoldendoodles.com/destructivebehaviors (https://www.durhamgoldendoodles.com/des…)
