Suggestion for improvement on Rover.com?

Hi, I am an owner of two dogs and have had a difficult time differentiating sitters who offer an additional dog rate discount versus ones who do not. I suggest adding that price differentiation for all sitter profiles and seeing that pricing information up front instead of having to dig for that info in the “Services” areas.

Additionally, I would recommend adding “distance” as a Filter criteria to the Search to only search for sitters within a certain distance.

Thanks.

Agreed! I am a (new) sitter and somehow the people sending me requests are not near my address. On the map it will state I am 1.7 miles when that is very inaccurate.

As a sitter I wish that available was an hourly thing. I might not be available from 10-4pm and I don’t want to have to mark the whole day off to avoid denying requests. I wish we could just mark off certain times and hours

Yes that would be very helpful

Agreed, I would like to be able to schedule things and know that it will not affect my whole day with Rover.

Rover Customer Service do not come here. So you should either call them at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] or use the Contact form at the bottom of the Help page:

https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us

I encourage you to do so. Rover needs to hear more directly from customers about problems with its site. I've been suggesting the distance search criteria for years. Right now the only way to find a nearby sitter is to use the map and manipulate it to zoom into your neighborhood.

Good luck and I hope you follow through.

Hi, as a sitter I would really like if there was a way to set the rate for day sitting based on a set period of time that then allowed me to charge more if someone went over that time, i.e., 0-6 hours or 0-8-hours, or half day and full day rates, and more for anything over that. For example, if someone wants sitting for anywhere up to 6 hours, I would charge my half day rate. After that I would charge a full day rate. Currently I may want to charge a smaller rate for a 0-6 hour window, but I can't charge someone more if they ask for 12 hours of sitting. This creates another paradox where instead of doing 3 walks with me someone can just pick my day sitting rate and they get 3 walks plus all of my time for less than the price of 3 walks. Basically I need more scalability in the day-sitting rate. I could have exained this better, but I hope you get my point.

As a sitter I would personally like a vacation setting. I am listed as unavailable and I’m still getting multiple requests. I would like to unwind without being penalized because I didn’t answer a message from a client both new and repeats. Letting us set up an automated message to send to those clients telling them I’m unavailable because I’m on vacation and will return messages following my return.

Ashley, there is an Away setting. it may not generated the automated response you'd like, but you are not penalized if someone contacts you.

I think one thing that would make Rover better, is making it so a variety of pets can be cared for, not only cats and dogs but also fish, reptiles, hamster, rabbits, etc. I personally have 2 leopard geckos that I will be unable to feed for a month because I will be out of town and would love to have someone watch them but it's not an option on Rover.

many rover sitters provide care for fish, reptiles, hamsters, rabbits, & geckos

I've been using Rover since 2018 and love it. There have been great improvements including the 24/h booking + additional costs of over.

Some things I think it would be really helpful;

If you could set rates for specific dates in advance. For instance, right now, I will be charging more during the holidays, but in a couple weeks, my rates will be much lower. For people looking for bookings a month out, I don't want them to see my increased busy time rates.

Also, I still have issues with my calendar syncing with Google calendar. It would be beneficial for me to have a calendar within the Rover app that would show me all my bookings, meet and greets and pending bookings. Right now I have to manually add things to my personal calendar, which opens the door to a mistake happening.

And last thought for now, it's extremely frustrating /confusing when my txt msgs do not sync up with the app messages. (example - I msg client on rover app, the msg is not relayed to my txt msg chain that uses the rover generated phone number. So then when I look at that thread, I'm missing part of the convo.)
