How do you ask a client to write you a review ?

I had a recent stay with a client and it went perfectly well, I think, but they haven't written a review. I just started on Rover and reviews would really help my profile. How do I politely ask the owner to write a review?

Many sitters reach out directly to the client asking them politely to leave a review. Many also offer the client a discount on their next booking if they do. Some clients leave reviews, many don't, but it never hurts to ask. Best of luck going forward.

Rachael, I look at reviewing as a requirement that both owner and the sitter should do. It's the responsibility of both parties to give an honest account of the stay after it has been completed. We do this when we provide a rating with notes to Rover and the owner does this with a review. It takes 2 minutes to write a sentence or two and is very impactful. They most likely looked at the price 1st and then read reviews 2nd when deciding on who to choose as a sitter. It's pretty important to your business and it's the one thing that can set us apart from everyone else. Without reviews, we all look the same.
I will mention a review at the time of pick up. a few hours after i'm done with the job, I send a kind text that tells the owner how great the stay was and to contact me the next time he/she needs help with Little Bruce. Then I'll ask them if they could please leave a short review of the stay when they have a minute and while the experience is fresh in their mind. After they leave a review, send a quick thank you.
On Rover, there is a place to reply to their review and in that section I thank them and tell them how great their pooch did on the stay and it would be a pleasure to care for Tinker Toy again. Always be honest with a positive spin. (example: Penny was so much fun to watch over the weekend and even though it took her some time to adjust, she did very well. I can't wait to watch her again).

Hope this helps.
