Will a dog be upset to move away from dog roommates?
My partner and I are considering adopting a puppy. Currently we live with roommates so there are three other people and 4 other dogs in the house. We will not live here forever. Will the dog be inconsolably sad to leave people and dogs she was raised with? Should we not consider adopting a puppy?
As long as you and your partner are the primary caregivers and spend the most time with your puppy, everything will be fine! Dogs (esp. puppies) form intensely strong bonds with their primary caregivers (aka parents 🥰) and the socialization with other dogs will be a wonderful first environment 👍
