Where do you buy food for your dogs during quarantine?

asked 2020-04-14 08:10:02 -0500

Hey. I have two labradors at home. I do not cook my own food because I’m not sure that they will like it. I just order the food https://www.rabato.com/us/hannaford/weekly-ad/21iMN4 (here) . They really like the food from Hannaford.

In my state, pet stores are considered essential businesses, so I can buy my dog's food at his usual place. This particular store is not allowing any customers inside. I call ahead, place my order and pay via credit card, and they bring it out to my car. They also have a walk-up station outside.

Moreover, you can buy dog food at grocery stores, places like Target, or many home improvement stores (like Menards here) that are considered essential and open. Ideally, if you are going out to buy your own food at a grocery store, you should have no problem buying dog food as well.

If your grocery store (Hannaford) doesn't do deliveries itself, some groceries have curbside pickup or you can do something like Instacart. There are many, many options.

Many suppliers (including petco.com ,chewy.com, petsmart.com) have reduced the minimum order amount to receive free shipping.

Yes to what both Karen and Deb said - you can have it delivered. :) I only wanted to make the comment that many delivery systems, including Chewy, Amazon, and even local ones like Instacart have longer delivery times than normal. If you're ordering non-local (Chewy, Amazon, etc.) you should assume it may take a week or so to get your delivery. If you order from a local store through Instacart or the store's delivery system, it may take a few more hours or even days to get your order. Good luck!!

I looked up her store. Unless she's at one of the 3 temporarily "paused" locations, they have delivery and curbside pickup. Very detailed instructions for each.
