My dog won't go potty outside. Only on wee pads.

I have a 1 year old neutered dachshund. Puppy pad trained. He will not ever go potty outside. I take him first thing in am...alone or with the other dogs. We walk and wait then walk and wait. 30 min. Go inside and he goes right to his puppy pad and pees on one and poops on the other. I've tried patting his tummy area outside. Praising hugely the other dogs (females) when they pee and he smells where they pee. Fortunately I can afford puppy pads but I'd love to have him per outside. I've asked my husband to go per on a Bush and show him but he won't . Parker was a rescue that we got at 8-10 weeks old. I regret even using a puppy pad. Parker goes out every time the girls go out. Any thoughts?

What if you put a wee pad outside and reward the dog when he pees on the pad outside?

We have a Chihuahua and she is trained for puppy pads. It is great at times because she doesnt have to be taken outside every so often but now she is being trained to start going outside. Here is a very helpful link so you can maybe gets an idea of where to start on how to train them to go outside.

I say move the pee pad(s) outside, and cut them to make it smaller and smaller until it disappears..... Remember they have their favorite spot to pee and poo outside as well. Eventually Parker (LOVE THE NAME!!! I USED TO HAVE A PARKER) will choose to run to his spot! good Luck!

I don't have an answer but my 4 year old havanese always used to go outdoors but recently waits until we get back from a long walk to poop on her pads. I am afraid if I don't have them, she will go on the carpet? Any help?
