I am just starting dog sitting, how do I get the word out?

I live in a pretty small town where almost everyone has a dog. I am just starting dog sitting and I don't know how to get the word out. Also, should I walk my 8 month old white lab when I am walking other dogs?

Starting your own pet sitting business is one of the most rewarding business ideas for animal lovers. It is relatively inexpensive to get started and you will just need to make sure to get all the necessary business permits and licenses for your area as well as some basic equipment. Plan your business and market your services to get your first clients. Soon you’ll be well on your way to owning a successful pet sitting business!

Hi Babar, I'm just getting started. What licenses and permits do you advise on having besides Clark County permit and DBA? Also, can anyone recommend a good CPA or tax person that handles your taxes at the end of the year? Thanks!

Join local facebook groups and Nextdoor if available. Post flyers on local bulleting boards, hand out cards if you see someone walking a dog. And to answer your question about walking your dog with a client, I say a firm NO, that is not very professional

I agree, Walt. I'm just starting up, and between FB groups, a FB page, $10 of business cards, and about 25 flyers strategically placed around town, didn't take long before I started getting some interest. As for the walking own dog with others, agreed again. Unless conversation w/ client permits
