Suspected scam from client?

Hello,

I am new to Rover and was incredibly excited to get my first dog walking/sitting request. The request is for dog sitting/walking February 25th-28th. The owner of the dog requested I email him at his private gmail, so I did. However, his response is sketchy for a few reasons. 1. He is asking me to attaching photos of myself 2. He is requesting information from me such as my address and phone number 3. there is no talk of those days he requested in February, instead he says he is new to the area and looking for a temporary/permanent person to take care of his dog. He also says in the email that he wishes to add me to payroll so he can send me a check soon to secure my services.

I would appreciate advice on this case and how I can stay safe and avoid any scams in the future as I use Rover.
