What happens if a request is not archived by the requested date?

Let's say you as a walker get a request for a walk at a specific time a few days later. You're already booked for that time, so you inform the requester that you can't accept the request (and they are not flexible about the time). What happens if you don't archive the request by the date requested? Does it stay under Pending (forever)?

It stinks because someone from another location tried to book me and now it has to be canceled because they are 3 hours away and it was for a family members pet Not theirs

If you don't archive the booking request it will sit in your pending folder until the end date of the booking request. However if that bothers you an option is to edit the booking end date to today and then in a day or two it will auto-archive.

Most of us archive unwanted booking requests to keep our calendar open for the slot.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my question! I appreciate it. Do you happen to know how much damage one's ranking takes doing this vs. actively archiving the request as "I wasn't available"?

@Marina Archiving requests have little to no impact on where you show up in searches. Your performance score takes a hit, but they are bullshit and have no meaning. To clear your availability always archive requests you don't decide to book.

I see. It seemed to me that as my booking scores went down, I placed lower on the list. Also, for the service with the higher booking score I place higher than the one with the lower booking score. It's possible that it's just a coincidence of course.

Anytime you don't book a request it impacts your booking score. The impact is the same regardless of why the booking didn't happen or if it's auto-archived or you archive it. I have no idea if the booking score affects ranking but the booking score won't change based on why it didn't happen.
