Can I request only hypoallergenic dogs to sit?

My husband has allergies but I wanted to dog sit for Rover, can I request only Hypoallergenic dogs to sit?

You can weed out non hypo dogs, but you wont get many clients. The only way to make it work is keep the dog out of certain areas providing a safe space for your husband. Especially the bedroom.

You can make a mention in your profile, or in your tag line...of course this is going to limit your business considerably.

And, as noted above, there are no truly hypoallergenic dogs. Some dogs shed considerably less than others, but like any other dog they shed tiny/microscopic bits of skin (called dander). This does cause allergic reactions in people.

In addition to what others said, nothing stops a customer from contacting you even if they have a non-hypoallergenic type dog. You would then have to turn down the request and your service percentages for accepting jobs would suffer. It is my understanding that, while they don't mean a great deal, they might factor into Rover's search algorithm. But who really know?

Of course, you set the rules and requirements for any sitting or boarding yourself. However, there are no truly hypoallergenic dogs so it may be a good idea to do some research before you commit to boarding dogs in your home. Good luck!
