Has anyone noticed the Q&A board has gone silent?

This forum, the Rover community forum https://community.rover.com/ and the Facebook Rover groups have had little to no HQ activity in sometime, anyone else care to add? Karen, Deb ?

I was just thinking the same thing!

Yes, I noticed both Q&A groups. My only thoughts are that the usual moderators are busy with different tasks at the moment (and just let this go) or may be away (vacation)?

Or could have left Rover and no one has been assigned to cover this unimportant role.

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind before I commented. So, on the other Q&A board, I started to compose a private message to 3 of the moderator names ... all of the names along with Mod. title, e-addresses,& photo populated. I'd think that the moderator access would be disabled immed. If they left.

On what other board where you can PM mods? I don't think anybody from Rover has posted here in more than a year or more.

<p>community.rover.com -- which may not have been rolled o ut to all users. It started in 2018, moderators were facilitating discussion topics. If one wanted to PM, from the posts started by Rover Moderators, the names I used were Bea, AndreaH, & (newest addition) Ciaugs

It's been quite a long time. Imagine if you were a sitter or customer with a time-sensitive question. While having an employee review all the postings from newly registered participants (which is probably how it is set up) does eliminate the possibility of spammers, if no one reviews them on a daily or regular basis, then they are doing a disservice to both. That has to be why we see new postings with old dates.

While I am not volunteering to work for Rover, I have the ability to delete spam and did at times before they implemented this new, ineffective procedure. Walt and Deb also should have this ability because of their points.

I was contacted ages ago to give input into a replacement for this place. I can't recall what other features it was going to have but I never heard anything after that even though I was told that I would be part of any beta.

It just goes to show how little Rover values its sitter community.

I just went to the Rover community page and was presented with this We value your feedback. Tell us about your experience. What was the purpose of your visit to the Rover Sitter Community? Looking for support or help Looking for a question I can answer or a topic I can participate in

Karen the so called replacement is this https://community.rover.com/ but it never gained any momentum

I see the Welcome message is from March of last year. When was this announced? There aren't any links to it. If you click on the one at the bottom of the page, it takes you here.

You cannot click my link and go to the new community?

Yes, but there is no link on the Rover site (bottom links) and I can't recall that other board being announced or even discussed here.

In March 2018, some emails were sent titled "New Rover Community Beta Test Invite" and the email stated after they received feedback, their plan was to roll out live to all sitters. *since their plan was to have it be for Sitters Only, that explains why no links here & I'm guessing still in Beta?

The goal of this site is to give Rover a place (beyond e-mail) to share news and updates with you, as well as a forum to connect sitters directly with other sitters to ask questions, share ideas and best practices, build local and national networks, and more. ...

Our goal is to eventually replace our current Q&A community with this site, as it provides more features for sitters to connect. (These last 2 comment fields were part of message sent)

Thanks, Deb, for the info. I spent like an hour on the phone with one of their people, giving my impressions, suggestions, etc., and she assured me I would be involved in the beta. Never heard a thing after that.

Karen & Deb, just another half-assed attempt by Rover, build buzz, launch and then abandon it

Great response last March to no links to the community: "Yes, this is a great idea and something that we're actively working on. Your correct in that, right now there is no way for sitters to get from their profiles or dashboards to the community, but our dev teams are actively working...

... on getting links added and this should be live in the next couple of weeks." Pfft!

Does anyone have a direct contact at Rover we can ask about this? I had never heard of the new community until last week when I saw Walt's post here. It would be nice to see if Rover will eventually be answering questions here again.

Yesterday I wrote Help about the problem and, from the answer, it is clear the person doesn't understand the issue. She suggested I call Customer Support.

Ugh :( Maybe they will know? (Trying to be optimistic)

Maybe it's like a cheesy Star Trek episode where a civilization's educated people died off, leaving behind a bunch of machinery that just ran on its own until it completely broke down and there was no one who knew how to fix it. I'm a bit of a Trekkie BTW. :)

Yep, I can see the dust settling now.

maybe we're part of a black mirror episode...yikes
