I'm looking for some one to come by and let out the dogs and throw the ball for them. I don't need this everyday but when I'm out of town and then it will be for a couple of days or the full work week M-F each time. how do I set up a meet and greet session with sitters so i can make sure they are the right fit for me and my dogs

Do a search in your zipcode for sitters who perform the drop-in service, contact a few and have a Meet & Greet to find out if they will be a good fit. Then you would proceed to the actual booking and payment phase.
Once you decide on a sitter, you would meet with them beforehand to go over how they will access your home when you are out of town. People use a variety of techniques. You would also go over everything you expect that sitter to do/
