What do I bring for walking and 30 min drop ins?

Hi, so while I'm waiting to get approved for Rover I'm wondering what I should bring for dog walking and drop-ins. Do I bring a leash, harness, maybe treats and little things like that? Thanks for your help!

Hello Summer,

The owner provides the leash and harness or collar, but it can be a good idea to bring extra poop bags just in case.

Before giving the dog any treats make sure the owner approves. They may have the dog on a special diet due to food intolerance or the owner's personal preferences.

Good luck!

I'm a full-time walker for the past 3 years and personally, I hate to use the client's leashes - especially retractables - won't use them. I always use my own gear and I use Mendota slip leads as they are easy on, easy off and give me lots of security as they won't slip off as many clients stuff can. When I go to a M&G I bring my gear and explain to the owner why I use my gear and none have ever raised an issue with me, also during the M&G I take the dog on a short walk to see how they walk to understand if this is a good dog or a difficult dog to determine if I really want this client.

I always carry my own poop bags and treats for the pups. In my car, I have water and a medical kit just in case. And since I'm outside all day and the weather can and does change I have extra clothing, especially rain gear.

Best of luck
