What do I charge for overnights in a two dog home?

I have a request for 2 overnights in the owner's home for her two dogs. I noticed Rover would charge my $25/night per dog. Do I charge for each dog then? Thank you!

I agree with Karen your base house sitting rate is too low even for LV. You will find over time that house sitting is the most time-consuming service we offer plus we are away from home and for many a huge inconvenience. Raise your rates and best of luck.

According to your rate table, Rover would charge $20 for the second dog.

If or what you charge for an additional dog is up to you. Your "nightly" rate to uproot yourself and stay and take care of a client's home and pets is ridiculously low to me. House sitting should be viewed as a premium service. However, I don't know what your $25 nightly rate includes. Rover's FAQ states that each "night" of either boarding or house sitting should be good for up to 24 hours of pet care, which would include at least 2-3 walks, feeding, etc. Unless you are only going over to the client in the evening, staying overnight and leaving in the morning and then charging extra for walks or drop-ins during the day, I can't imagine doing all that for $25.

Yes! What Walt and Karen said...2nd dog should be $20 each overnight and I do think $25 a night is too low. Think of 24 hours, that is going to be a $1 an hour...can you search as an "owner" and see what other people in your area charge so you are still being competitive and in the avg range?
