Is there a Rover.com rule that Meet and Greets are supposed to be done in the owner's house to avoid stress on the dog?

I was asked to do a meet and greet at a sitter's house but I thought it was supposed to be done in a neutral location or the owner's place?

I personally want to see where my dogs will be staying if I board them, so I don't mind meeting at the sitters home. If you have a dog that stresses that easily, you may consider going with a house sitter. This way the sitter comes to you and your dog stays in their comfort zone.

A M&G should be held at a location that is agreeable to both the client and the sitter. For my boarding clients, I ask that they meet at my home. They can see where the dog will be staying (which I as a potential client would definitely insist on) and I can see how the dog acts in my home. I ask to hold M&G for house sits at the client home so I can see the dogs in the natural environment and also learn about the house where I will be staying.

There are no Rover rules about such things. Every sitter decides how he/she is going to conduct their business. Everyone here has his/her own practices.

I offer boarding in my home and have a dog who can be leash aggressive. Therefore, I have all potential customers come to my home. That way our dogs can meet and they can see where their dog will be staying.
