How much do you typically charge for a non overnight 7 hour visit?

I have an owner who requested my services (was scheduled as a housesitting request). We got to talking about details and when it came down to it she just would like me for the day 12PM-7PM. She does not want me leaving the dog at all which is completely understandable however my overnight charge is 35 dollars? I believe that's what she's expecting to pay however I feel like that's kind of cheap for 7 hours? Wanted to get some opinions. Thanks in advance!

I’m lost to it says a stay is 24 hours but I’m only charging 40. If I’m required for the whole 24 hours I think I’m kinda screwing myself that’s a dollar something an hour

EXACTLY! I'm having the same issue. What do you charge for 24 hour care since it's not just days alone or nights alone??

When you are boarding or house sitting, you can't think in terms of hourly pay. Way too depressing.

With this customer, she is asking for a level of exclusivity outside your normal rate. When people house sit or board, they may have other pets to walk or do drop-ins. She is asking you to stay in her home the entire time so that you could not walk any other dogs. Noon and early afternoon are prime times for walks and drop-ins. Tell her that you normally walk other dogs during the day and if she wants you to sit in her house for 7 hours, then you will need to charge more.

Depends if you like her. You could explain that a drop in is 30 minutes... which would be 14 half hours 😁 or charge her the equivalent of the 2 dogs you would be able to normally walk at noon and another 2 you would normally walk in the afternoon as well as at least two drop in visits for her.
