Has anyone else gotten false requests for dog walking?

Not sure how to prevent it, if that's even possible, but please help if you can. I'm new to Rover.

I've gotten two "fake" requests for dog walking. I got the requests, responded back, and then got a message that the profiles had been deleted. I didn't see the location of one of the requests because it was deleted too fast, but the one i did see was WAY out of my territory - another state, if I remember right.

I have to say it creeps me out more than a little bit as a female. I'm thankful for the self defense training that I continue to develop, and maybe I'm overreacting because of that, but this experience rubs me the wrong way. I don't believe my profile would lead anyone to think that I want to do anything except walk their dog.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Scammers do create false profiles on the Rover platform and then send out booking requests, typically they will offer to pay you a flat rate per hour and ask for your email address, if and when you receive a request like this it is best to immediately report it to Rover support @ [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]

Like Walt said, its a scam, not a threat. They want your money and don't care if you're a man or a woman.
