Does Rover ask about pets being up to date on vaccines? Especially Rabies?

In the past (and not with Rover) I was bit while dog sitting. I had to go to the ER and multiple people kept asking me "was the dog up to date on shots?" and I had no idea and had a hard time contacting the owner. I know that it is probably my responsibility to find out but just wondering if Rover asks. Does anyone else ask for vaccines or rabies proof?

As a sitter, you should ask the client to provide an up-to-date vaccination record for each dog in your care, custody and control. The article highlights what shot are necessary https://www.caninejournal.com/dog-vac...

No, Rover doesn't ask for any documentation or proof as vaccination requirements vary by state. The Terms of Service places the responsibility on Service Providers (i.e., sitters) to ascertain whether the pet has been vaccinated in accordance with local laws. I ask my clients to provide that documentation. These days, so many vet offices give customers online access to their pet's records and it is easy to print them out. The basic minimum by law nationwide is for rabies because, unlike the others, it provides protection for humans.

I think it's part of the ToS that the pet is up to date on vaccines and such, however many sitters make sure to specifically ask when they get a booking request.

From the TOS For Pet Owners, this means, among other things, that you will ensure that your pets are vaccinated and licensed as required by local law. So this only means rabies

sorry but what does TOS stand for? I am restarting Rover after being away for a while and alot has changed! haha

Thanks Walt and Karen :)
