what's a good wet food brand?

It's always hard to recommend one brand of food over another but this site ranks dog foods and is highly regarded https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/

I hear Royal Canin is top notch, but a little pricey. Other than that I don't really use wet food for my pets.

I feed my two dogs Acana and Orijen brand dry food.

There are various good brands, but at the end of the day it's about what you feel is best for your pup. I use Taste of the Wild for both dry and wet food. My dogs love it and even though one of my dogs is usually very sensitive to different kinds of food- this food has no bad effects on him. I love the brand!

I would ask my vet since he knows my pet best.

Obviously there are many first rate wet dog foods, but a reasonably priced first-rate food is FreshPet...sold in the refrigerated areas in pet supplies. The best price is at Walmart (at least $2 less than at PetSmart) and has a very transparent simple ingredient list, right down to telling you how many ounces of meat are in each bag (or roll), how many ounces of & what kind of vegetables, etc. I’ve never had a kibble fed dog, & I’m reallly impressed with FreshPet. After 40 years, I’ve tried almost all of the premium brands, and for quality & price I’m very happy with this product. And the dogs love it. And one lady’s opinion, if you read the ingredient list on Caesars, it is in actuality a “junk food”, which is why so many dogs love it...they’re no different than us, lol. Btw, everyone is right...dogfoodadvisor.com is a very helpful site. I’ve also been a subscriber to Whole Dog Journal since they began publication in the 90’s. I haven’t actually checked FreshPet in either place yet, as I’m accustomed to reading the ingredient list, caloric content, & deciding for myself, & since I made the change recently, I just haven’t had time to look it up. Good luck, & remember whatever you can afford & your dog thrives on is what is most important...they’re individuals & nothing is written in stone.

I was in pet nutrition for 4 years. It really depends what you are using the wet food for. There are pate styles and also chunky, some with gravy, some with aspic. I prefer to buy/ feed medium to higher end foods. My absolute favorite go to product, is Stella and Chewys freeze dried patties or meal mixers. You can feed it alone or add water to it to make it more of a canned food . I find even picky eaters LOVE Stella and Chewys. I also really like Zignature, Nutri-Source, Lotus, Honest Kitchen, Weruva and Fromm. Hope that helps!

I second the recommendation for dogfoodadvisor.com. I use Nulo and the Wellness stews which both get top marks. Nulo is a more solid paste and the stews are more liquid. You can also make your own bone broth in a slow cooker, place a raw egg or a bit of bacon fat over dry food if you are just trying to make it a bit more enticing. You will notice a huge improvement in your dog once you get him off of Cesar and people food.
