Does my puppy have anxiety at my parents’ house?

I have a one year old yorkie/shih tzu mix. She does have slight anxiety (example: when I leave the room she’ll cry a little bit but it’s not serious anxiety). I recently moved back into my parents’ house with her and We’re in my room she just cries a lot. I take her outside to see if she needs to go, I give her water/food, I give her some attention for a few minutes, etc. No matter what I do she eventually still cries and paces around the room again. I should also mention that when I first got her a year ago, I was living with my parents and I don’t recall her crying as often as she does now. Does she have anxiety being here? If so, why is that? What can I do? I really need some help bc I’m getting really frustrated bc I don’t know what she wants. Any help or input is appreciated!

To her it may just be the move, some dogs are very sensitive to that. You're able to talk to your vet and explain your situation and she might have a answer for you, you can also get "rescue remedy" drops, they calm pooches down and you can get them at walmart!

So it sounds like this is her third(?) living arrangement with your in a year, even though it's the second time for her living at your parents' place? Separation anxiety can definitely be triggered by a move, or even any change in living situation (such as a person moving out of the home you're in, a new baby coming in, etc.). It sounds to me in your description like she's having this issue when you're there. If that's the case, could you describe a scenario or two to me, including what she did, where you were at that time and what your reaction was? Sometimes our reactions, positive or negative, are all rewarding in their minds --hence the need for details to give you as much info as possible. :-)

Very often our dogs pick-up on our anxiety. By any chance are you more anxious at your parents house? Do you have a negative situation in your life right now? That could be setting her off.
