Client Only Photo Album?

Is there a way to my clients dogs in their own album instead of adding to my personal photos of my pets and family?

I think this question needs a few more words, but I will try and give you a few options.

~When you take photos of a clients pets, you can choose whether they become public (on your Rover site) or not. ~After a certain amount of photos, the clients get a "reel" with all the photos from their pets stays. ~Rover does not yet have an option to separate photos on your page, instead owners and sitters can look them up using the "past stays" tab in your inbox. They should appear at the top. ~If the owner gives you permission, you can always email the photos to them so they are completely private. Just make sure they arent expecting them through Rover or it will impact your % of clients that received photos #.

I hope that helps, and if it didnt I may have misinterpreted your question. Best of luck!

I don't think they can "unhide" them, since the hide option only hides them from your profile. Clients wouldn't have an option to allow photos on your profile that you have selected to not show. They can add whatever pics they want to their dog's personal profile, however.

What I mean is that an owner can hide/unhide photos on their dog's profile. Let me test it out and see if it affects my sitter's profile page!

O yeah. If I hide/unhide from Whisky's profile, it affects which photos show on his sitter's profile. But not sure if the sitter hides first [but I can still see it on Whisky's profile], if I'd be able to unhide. Whatever haha! I'm just happy I can edit my own profile's Client album! :P

How did you tell the pics disappeared from the sitter's profile, since those pictures are now randomly selected from previous stay photos each time the page is reloaded?

Is it really random? He had 33 photos, then I unhid one, and he had 34 when I refreshed. Then I hid again and it was back to 33.

Ahhh, ok, so he doesn't have enough photos to randomly generate. You can view 50 at a time, so if you've uploaded more than that it's a random selection.

Leslie, I'm not sure exactly what your question is, but it sounds like you're adding photos through your profile edit menu. When you host a dog, you want to send pictures by attaching them to your messages to the owner in the conversation for that dog's stay. This puts those pictures in the "Canine Clients" section of your profile, which is an assortment of pictures uploaded from previous stays. As you host more dogs and send their pictures to the owner, this section will randomly select images from previous stays to display on your profile for clients to click through.

To add one more thing to Emily's answer - if you want to remove specific photos from your online collection you can call Rover support and they will do it for you.

I have personally requested that Rover include a way to hide photos from the public but continue to allow pet owners to see them, but I am not a computer person and I don't know if that's possible.

Thanks, I was just about to ask this question, whether there is a way to do this ourselves. On the Android app, it defaults to including the photos you send in messages to your public collection, and I'd like to remove some of those!

The funny thing is, prior to the last round of site updates, we DID have this option. Each dog's photos showed up on our profiles in their own separate album, and when we viewed them (while signed in) we had the option to remove individual photos from public view. I wish that feature would be reinstated. You can do something similar now, by unchecking the "Add these photos..." box when you send the message, but this requires you to send separate messages - one for photos you want viewed publicly, and another for those you don't. Once they're been added to the public album, we don't have the option to remove them ourselves anymore.

I posed this question to Rover support and they said they will try to put it back. The person who helped me said they hadn't realized it was no longer available, that it had sort of just disappeared with updates.

Carmen, thanks! Glad to hear they intend to keep that option. Now I just wonder if we'll have access to all our previously updated photos for editing, or will we just have to keep refreshing our profile?

I actually didn't realize you had to send photos THROUGH rover to get them to show up as "client dogs" and for some reason one I didn't send of one of my own dogs is there.

Leslie - yep, you just attach photos to your messages to your clients, and unless you uncheck the "Add these photos..." box, the pictures you send the owners will become part of the pool of client photos that appear on your profile.
