How do we find a cat sitter?

How do we add our cats to our profile?

Comments

I concur. I ONLY need cat boarding, but when the quote comes in, the price is like, DOUBLE, because it can only go under dog boarding, and dog boarding is ALWAYS more expensive. Rover really needs to fix this and treat cat care as a separate booking.

My current client had difficulty with this as well. There was no option to choose "Cat" so he had to put in it under dog. He does not have a dog.

I think Rover needs to address this issue and expand the Cat Care option for clients & sitters. Make it more visible.

Sorry guys, but have to address this, because it is really difficult to look for cat sitters. Although the site is super user friendly, this shouldn't be so complicated.

When you are seaching for a sitter, there is a link in the upper left hand corner of the page that states "Filters." Here, you are able to select "Cat Care." I have actually added pets that are not dogs to my profile, and they are are shown as "Hillary's Pets," rather than specifically "Hillary's Dogs." It also would probably be a good idea to emphasize that they are cats if you are to contact a sitter who provides cat care , just to be sure they are aware.

Thank you, Hillary. Can you tell me how you add cats, and get to where it says "hillary's pets" I can't seem to find where to do that. Do I just go to "add a dog" and just add my cats? Thanks for the help!! I really appreciate it.

Mary, I just went to "add a dog," like you mentioned and added my hedgehog ;) When you have to select their breed, I put her under "Other." The ______'s Pets" portion is shown on your profile page. Hope this helps!

I have it listed in my profile that occasionally I have a guest cat visiting. I think it is important that both the dog and cats owners know this.

To add a cat to your profile, you list it as a dog, but chose "cat" as the breed. Then it allows you to add photos and lists it as one of your "pets"

For searching for people who will sit for cats, I found this link: https://www.rover.com/cat-sitting/

It looks like using that you can search by people who will care for cats, but then if you go to contact that sitter, can't send a message unless you list a pet. It sends an error message saying to put in your "dog" information. So you have to chose "Cat" as an option as a breed of dog on the drop down list. I don't know if chosing "cat" as a breed of dog will automatically set a "dog price" or a "cat price" for boarding though.

I also found this site, showing that animals other than dogs are backed by rover insurance and support, so that's awesome!
