How do you make yourself stand out?

I recently started using Rover in Milwaukee, where it's just starting to bloom. I've been a dog sitter for years, but there are so many new sitters, some who don't necessarily have extensive training or certification other than "I love dogs" on their profile. How do YOU make yourself stand out?

Fill out your profile completely. Post a lot of pictures of your home, areas where the dog will be, your backyard, your neighborhood. List your experience and be specific about what types of dogs you have worked with in the past. Get testimonials from those you have sat for in the past, regardless of whether they came to you from Rover. It's the reviews/testimonials that many owners look at, so if you can start off with a few good ones, that will help.

Hi I have been with Rover for quite some time now and just now getting dogs. What I did was put my posting on craigslist a good few times as well as tweet. Also being on the FAQ page. You can also get bussiness cards. Hope this was of big help to you.

Hi! I joined Rover a few months ago and among other things, what has really made my profile attractive has been my reviews and testimonials. It can be tough getting your first client (it took me a few weeks) but once you get some happy customers to write great reviews and talk to their friends about you, the requests should start coming in pretty quickly. Even if they're just friends or family members who know how much you love dogs, having them write testimonials can really be helpful- especially if they're specific about what makes you so great with animals.

Other than that, lots of great pictures of you and your pets along with some info about why you're qualified to be a sitter will make your profile stand out. Posting to craigslist is also a great way to get some of your first clients.
