why is it so much more to walk a puppy?

I have 2 dogs. Why is it more to walk a puppy?

I am new to Rover, but maybe the puppy is a little more difficult being in the puppy stage. I don't know the sitter or your dogs, but it could be it. You should just ask the sitter.

Puppies can be more expensive because they are untrained on a leash. So they can pull, walk in front of the walker, trip them, stop randomly, try to chase things, Etc. This causes the walk to be a lot more effort than it would be to walk an adult dog. whom you can get from point A to point B without any distractions.

I agree with the answers above and will add that if the pup is not house trained, they require more trips outside, constant supervision or crate training.

I personally don't charge higher or extra for puppies you still have to walk them the same amount of time as an adult dog.

It shouldn't be. The length of the walk is the same, as is the effort involved. Talk to the sitter and then you might want to shop around for another on Rover who doesn't up the price. In fact, some sitters may give you a discount for a second dog from the same household.

Higher rates for puppy care are generally only warranted for boarding and/or house sitting engagements.
