Can dogs fall in love?

My dog loves my friends dog like I've never seen before. They snuggle, follow each other around, and do not leave each others sight. He isn't like this with ANY other dogs. Is it possibly they have some kind of special bond similar to a couple in a relationship?! That's what it feels like!

Yes my dog loves the girl dog across my street. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ he always kisses her.

Supposedly they can. New research is showing that when dogs see our faces, or smell our scents, their brains release oxytocin which is the love hormone also found in humans. Scientists found this by training dogs to sit in MRI machines and scanned them using various ques from owners and strangers. Although dogs are thought to be about as smart as a 5 yr old, they do undergo the same chemical reactions as in humans. Will they write ballads, sonnets, and prose about it. Probably not =)

I think dogs can grow affectionate toward one another if they constantly spend time together. I know they're happy to see their owners so I'm sure there's no difference between that and seeing a beloved doggie friend
