What cleaning do you do when you sit for a dog and cat owner for ~9 days?

Hello! I'd like to know what you consider to be standard practice for cleaning an owner's home during and at the end of your sit. Let's say the sit lasts 9 days. Do you wipe the tub, sink, or toilet? Do you sweep, vacuum, or mop the floors? Do you wipe the kitchen surfaces (sink, counters, stove, microwave)?

What do you think is basic cleaning and where do you draw the line and consider that something a cleaning service would do?

Thanks!

You want to leave the house in the same if not better condition than how it was left for you. 9 Days is a long time to be in someones home, I try to always go above and beyond for my clients. When they come back from a long trip the last thing that they are going want to do is have to clean up after someone else. So to answer your question I clean every room I was in and used. I will clean the bathroom I used- including the bat tub, Windex the mirror, clean the sink, counter top, ect. I will vacuum and mop the floors, clean the kitchen- including any dishes I used I will wash and put away, take out the trash. Yes, I guess at times it can feel as you are a cleaning service but I also stayed there for however many days.

I agree with Erica & have a very similar routine. I get in the habit of cleaning up a little each day, that way it doesn't feel too overwhelming at the end of the stay. Also, IF they happen to come home early they are coming home to a clean house. If I slept in the bed, I also launder the sheets.

I clean up the house also. The kitchen the counters bring in mail water plants and change the sheets and vacuum also
