Great photos on walks?

Hi Guys,

As you know, Rover needs a photo on every single walk. I often walk the same dog many times and with only 30 minutes together I want to focus on getting a nice walk in vs. the perfect shots, especially when some pups aren't apt to stand and pose for me.

What are your secrets for getting nice walkie shots or how do you handle the constant requirement to include a photo with a walk?

I usually ask clients where the pup's treats are and if its ok to give them one during their midday walk. I only ever take pictures at the end of the walk, so I ask the pup to sit. Snap a picture while holding the treat, and give the pup their hard earned snack. If no snacks are allowed or available, I'll generally ask the pup to sit, make a funny noise to get their attention, and snap the pic.

Some dogs just can't hold their focus for the 2 seconds it takes to push the button for a picture. In these instances, I will send a blurry one, or one of their leashed dog midwalk.

Your regulars/repeats won't likely care. They trust you and have faith in the service you provide, that's why they're regulars!

I am a mid-day walker and long ago I stopped trying to get a perfect photo on every walk. Every day every walk each client get a picture sometimes I get lucky and it's a good one, most times its just okay. My clients aren't concerned about pictures but that I walk their pup and that's what is most important

I know this is old, but I was looking for something else and landed here. I take great photos and clients are always commenting on it and thanking me. My trick? Just keep clicking. Get good at roughly aiming your phone with one hand and clicking as you go about the walk or sit. Then go through and pick the good shots. Yeah, you'll have a bunch of crap ones, but you'll also wind up with some really great ones.

Make a funny noise and the pup will tilt their head. I get amazing photos all the time because of this trick :D
