Could you give me some advice regarding whether or not my concerns about dog owner's profile are valid?

I am a newbie to Rover. Yesterday I received two requests for dog sitting and arranged Meet and Greets. The first one is this evening. When I looked at the owner's profile this morning, there is no profile picture and answers to questions like "is the dog housebroken", "does the dog get along with children", "does the dog get along with other dogs", "does the dog get along with cats", etc. were "maybe". The dog is a Blackmouth Cur and weighs 60 #s. My friend who has a mobile dog grooming business said Blackmouth Curs can be aggressive. I do not have any personal experience with the breed. When I meet the owner and dog, I will go through the Meet and Greet checklist and certainly, I will ask questions about the dog's temperament. As a seasoned sitter on Rover, would you be concerned about the dog owner's lack of a profile pic and the evasive answers given to the specific questions in the dog's profile? Would you address concerns through a message before the Meet and Greet?

The mere fact that the owner hasn't completely filled in the dog's profile and has answered fairly nebulously isn't a huge concern. Many don't bother or are in a hurry to sign up and find themselves a last-minute sitter because, perhaps, their previous arrangement has fallen through.

As for the breed, I have no direct knowledge. Since you accept large dogs, I would assume you are an experienced handler. Do you own research on the breed. From what I've read here:

I see nothing bad. But that is what the M&G is for: finding out everything about the dog. If you want to do some filtering via messaging beforehand, so as not to waste everybody's time, then go ahead. Ask the owner about the "maybes" especially if they are deal-breakers for you. You can also propose a test run with the dog, where you don't commit to a long house-sitting but take charge of the dog for an entire afternoon or at least several hours.

Good luck!

Thank you for taking the time to reply with your thoughts. I had considered that the owner just had not taken the time to add details, but I saw that he's been on Rover for several months. I did look up information about the breed and that was quite helpful.

How did the meet and greet turn out? Also, since the owner has been on the site for months, were you able to view any pictures from previous Rover appointments he'd had?

I wouldn't be concerned at all. Not everyone is tech savvy or has the time to fill that stuff out.
