How do I get my dog to start going potty in her backyard again?

I adopted my dog when I first moved into my house 4 years ago. I started dog sitting with rover about 8 months ago. In the past 3-4 months she has slowly stopped going potty in her own backyard. I assume it is because of all the other dogs that come and go in our home using the backyard to potty. It started out sometimes she would go and sometimes she wouldn't. Now she just flat out won't go. She doesn't even want to step in the grass. As of a few days ago she is acting like she doesn't even want to go out the back door to stand on the concrete patio. Any advice.... anything I can put on the grass to neutralize the smell maybe. Please help!

A yard ordor neutralizer may help! There are a few products out there that will eliminate the urine and odor without damaging your yard. Check out something like this https://www.chewy.com/naturvet-yard-odor-eliminator-32-oz/dp/45356?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=hg&utm_content=NaturVet&utm_term=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI99OrlN741gIVXgUqCh2pnAnlEAkYAiABEgKhxvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds (NaturVet Yard Odor Eliminator).

If that does not help, you may need to redo potty training with her. It could help to find a specific spot in the yard for her to go potty at and taking her out on a leash to that area only. If she doesn't go bring her back inside and try again in increments (30min, 1 hr, 2hr, depends it's up to you) until she goes in her spot.

My aunt has a potty pit for her dogs that might help as well. It is a large wooden frame of 2 x 4s that they filled it with gravel. She taught her dogs to go potty there by doing the same thing. Bringing them on a leash to the potty pit until they go to the bathroom and then repeating it until they understand that that is the area they need to go potty at.

I hope this helps!

I usually wash my lawn every day (clean up poop and spray down with the hose). The water helps to deplete the amount of nitrate (attribute of pee) and reduce the smell. You may have to stand outside with your pup until they go walking around and then lots of praise once they do.
