Who/how is pets food supplied?

If watching a pet at your own home via ROVER who generally supplies the pets food? Does the owner bring it with them with instructions or do you as the sitter feed the pet with your own supply or does it just depend on the situation/arrangement with the pet owner? Thank you.

Pet owners supply their own food. It is far better for your dog to continue with his/her regular diet. Talk to your sitter about what you need to bring and how it should be packaged. Also, if your dog is restricted in anyway about certain foods, it is a good idea to make sure your sitter knows.

I require that owners supply the food. Many just fill up a Ziploc bag with it, depending on the length of the stay. Some will supply their own treats, but I ask whether it is alright to feed them the kind of treats I give my own dog.

I always request the owners provide all food and treats they want their dog to have. If they have to have a measured amount of food, I have asked the owner to measure each portion in a ziplock baggie. I have never had anyone question this and it has worked out well.
