I'm new, and I just got a request to sit dogs for a week, but the owner hasn't responded to my message for a meet and greet? Is this a bad sign, or would you still accept request?

Like I said, I'm new to this site, and I want to make a good first impression. Plus, this is a big first request, but I don't know if I should start with something this large. (3 dogs for 7 days)

I would strongly recommend never booking a stay without a M&G. The meeting gives you a chance to see how you and the dog interact with each other, and you can judge its behavior. Also, interviewing the owners can give you an idea of how they will be as clients, as well as how complex their care requests are.

I reply as soon as possible to an initial request. I review their profile before answering and ask any questions about potential deal breakers. I tell them that a M&G is required before I accept their request, "to make sure that I am the best sitter for Fido." I then give them a choice of dates and times I am available. If they don't respond within 24 hours, I send a reminder message - "are you still interested in my keeping Fido? Please let me know if your plans changed." No response 24 hours after that, I archive the message as owner didn't respond, and move on.

Sadly, this happens often. Clients' plans change or they find someone cheaper or that better meets their needs. Don't take it personally.

Did the owner actually "book" you or reached out to you for a meet and greet? I know Rover encourages owners to contact atleast two sitters. Maybe the owner found someone else? I would reach back out once more before archiving it. :) Good Luck!!!

New boarding requests expire automatically in 72 hours. If someone has reached out to me, I have responded, and the booking request expires, I reach out one more time and then archive.

What about if you did the meet and greet and they agreed to board with you but the booking was never completed, the request expired and your attempts to contact them went unanswered ? The date is in 2 days , I have other requests do I book them? What happens if she just shows up?????

To answer the first part of your question, I would do as people have said above, reach out once more and if you still do not get an answer, archive the request.

For the second part of the question, should your first booking be such a large booking, it all depends on the size, obedience and energy level of the dogs and your level of experience. Since the dogs are from the same family you can assume they get along with each other so it is more about how much work they require and if you are able to provide them with the care they require. I would definitively make sure to do the meet and greet and have the dogs both inside your home roaming freely and outside on a walk to see how they behave and if you are equipped to deal with these 3 dogs at once.
