I am going on vacation for a week and have a few dog walking regulars that might look elsewhere as they need the walks but i don't want to lose them to competition. I don't really know any other dog walkers or Rover does Rover help or should i contact Rover people in my area?

What I did was look up sitters and walkers in my area with very high reviews, lots of repeat bookings and contacted them. I met the ones I liked best and chose one to be my go to when I am on vacay on when I have too much demand. Of course I always risk my clients liking him better but I am pretty confident in the high standards of the services I provide and of my client's satisfaction level so I much prefer offering finding them a replacement when I am not available an extra service I provide, taking away the hassle of finding one themselves.

I'm a daily walker and I've reached out to another Rover sitter/walker - we are now each others backup. He doesn't normally take walks but will cover my clients. I rarely board and that's what he prefers . We have a good working relationship. FYI Rover Match is for owners to find sitters not for sitter/walkers to find backups

Hi, Holli!

I see you're in Ventura. If you still may need some backup help, I'm in Newbury Park and might be available depending on the specifics and times. My kids are gearing up for back-to-school here shortly so I have my schedule listed as open, as we're winding down summer parks and rec courses and getting ready for a twin 8th grade orientation. I have a friend who lives in Ventura and I did some petsitting for her in the first part of June. The kids stayed with me one night and at home with the fam for the other, but we're fine with any arrangement in that area. Our absolute favorite beach has always been Marina Park, though! Fairly familiar with the area; I worked at VC for some time and our lease is up here soon --We're considering places between Simi and Ventura.

If I could be of any assistance for you, please don't hesitate to check in --Ask me anything! :-)

Yes, you can contact Rover Match to see who they recommend. https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/ar...

Hopefully your clients won't stop booking with you just because you're gone for a week! I think most people are pretty understanding.
