Do any other sitters off extended daycare hours?

Are there any other sitters that do daycare and get requests that may extend past the "traditional" 9-5? If so, how do you handle charging for those situations?

I have been getting a lot of requests from nurses, etc that often work 10 or 12 hour shifts and would like extended daycare.

My official day care hours are from 6am-7pm. Nobody has ever actually used the full time, but I put it out there so early people can come, and those who work late don't have to worry.

I have a generic price list but I do look at pricing on a case by case basis as well. I will take into account the consistency of the business, the amount of work a dog is, the budget of my clients and such criteria when it comes to pricing. When a client requires more than a 8 hour day, I see how much business this client gives me, how much she can afford and how much work her dogs are, most likely, for a regular client with pleasant dogs, I would simply charge the same but I would also feel comfortable asking for a bit more if the client could afford it or if their dog was a lot of work. I charge 25$/day for a regular 8 hour stay so I would add another 5$.

This is a new client that I have not worked with yet. That being said, I am watching her dog all week. Out of the entire week, there is only one or two days that would be over the 8 hours. This was already a topic with the client and I said it wouldn't be an issue, Just wondering going forward.

I tell my clients that on the days I really need them to be punctual on pick ups, I will let them know, the rest of the time, I don't really care as long as they dont take advantage.

Since a traditional workday is 9am-5pm, daycare facilities typically open earlier and stay later to accommodate the pet owner's work hours. Rover's FAQ provides this guideline: dropoff between 7-9am and pickup from 4-6pm.

Of course, you set your own hours and rates. I don't offer daycare. However, when a dog stays with me 10-12 hours beyond dropoff (on that final day), I would be charging my full boarding rate.
