I would not use Neosporin on my dog. Halo brand makes a great product called Derma Dream. This is safe to put anywhere on your pet and safe if they lick it. My dogs have come out of the woods with some pretty big scratches and this stuff works great to heal them up overnight.
Both of these other answers are more or less correct Neosporin is Animal Safe and dog friendly but when I would recommend more than all of that is what we used on the farm all the time for all of our animals and The Merck Manual from Merck veterinary medicine recommends it also and that's called good old-fashioned Bag Balm it would be put on a cow that was milking or a horse that was milking or just general cuts. The one thing that you have to look out and see if the injured area begins to show signs of pus or more redness then discontinue it and take it to your back respectfully the chief
