Help! How do I say No after a Meet & Greet?

I have two dogs booked for the upcoming July 4th week. I usually don't take more that 2. A new customer has asked to have there dog with me for 8 days but three of those days over-lap with the other two. So initially I said no. Then they begged me because most sitters are booked so I agreed to a Meet & Greet. The dog is too high strung to have when I have two other dogs here and my own dog. How do I nicely decline?

You politely explains that at first glance it appeared you had availability. BUT after checking again you have over lapping dates that conflict But you will help them find someone from the company that you trust and will meet their needs

Tell them exactly what you wrote. You do not feel that their dog will get along with the other two you are sitting for that period. For all the dogs safety and well-being, you cannot take the chance of introducing their dog into the mix. Be honest and polite.

I would say that their dog is just not a good fit for the other two you had previously agreed to take care of. And you are concerned about the well being and safety of all the dogs. And for that reason you're going to have to say no. It's to everyone's benefit. If you frame it in the context of what's best for the dogs I've never had anyone argue with me. And you can say, please do keep me in mind for future sits (if indeed that's what you want!)

Just be honest. I don't feel the dogs will mesh. For the safety of all my clients.....
