Why does it take so long for Rover.com to process your payment to your account?

I'm kind of annoyed that we have to wait up to 72 hours for our payment to be available for withdrawal after the service has ended, yet Rover gets their payment right away from the client.

Also, kind of annoyed that Rover doesn't have a tipping option for us sitters via their app (it would be nice if they had a tipping option for the client after the services have ended).

I don't know. I've learned a lot using this application for the first time. I thought it would be more instant since everything is connected easily.

It does suck. But you KNOW Rover would tax us MORE if we got tipped. 20% is disgusting.

I agree. 20% is disgusting.

I'm still waiting for my payment to reach my paypal account . 2 days and nothing

There is WAG.

I definitely got a $16 tip for my 1st sitting and Rover took the whole $16 for their "fee" after it took their 20% already. Something isn't right!

I think it’s crap I’ve had a pending payment for well over a week now. This is ridiculous

It's only a 72-hour hold for your first payment, then it's 48 hours. The reason is to allow time to settle any complaints or issues regarding the stay. If you set it up for Paypal, you can set up an auto-payment so that your money is automatically sent to Paypal. You'll get an email notification when Rover sends the Paypal payment.

Yes, tipping within the app would be nice, but with the merge and all the software changes that have to be made, I don't see that happening any time soon.

Yes it upsets me too, that not only do I have to wait 2 full business days to have my money available to me and they don't offer a tip option either uhhhhh so annoying

Also Carl C. yes tipping would be nice and u said it would take a lot for them (Rover) to add that feature for US the sitters, but see, since it's a tipping option that we want and they (Rover) will NOT benefit from it, then of course they will not try their best to make it happen...

So....of course since they will NOT benefit from the tipping option and only US the sitters will, then they think it's not worth their time or trouble to even add the tipping option...so unfair and ridiculous. but if there is something that is added to their benefit they will jump on it LOL

Yes it seems that whenever payment is issued by strip on a Friday it takes xtra days to actually see the Money in your bank account. Sometimes it takes an actual 6 to 7 days if there is a holiday .

I don’t get how the whole payment thing even works! Why does Rover say they use Stripe but then ask for my bank account information also? Like, why do payments have to #1. Go through Rover, #2. Go through Stripe, then #3. Go into your bank account! And I had no idea that it took days to get paid!

Considering they collect payment upfront from the client it's way too long.. I get the 48 he hold to settle complaints but after that Stripe has the ability to do an instant payout with a .50 charge. The option should definitely be there in this day & age.

Considering my office job would pay me every two weeks or once a week. I feel that being paid 3 days immediately after the service is incredibly fast. I'm not quite sure what kind of job you had that you would be paid immediately after the service? Most take some time to route thru payroll etc.

As mentioned above it's to make sure that all the service is completed correctly. also sometimes people add on additional days. what if Rover would pay you the day that they check out but then they have to add on another 2 days now what! it just makes sense to wait.

The comparison you made is kind of moot. No one is necessarily saying they want to be paid right away, but jobs that are in the gig category often pay sooner than three days - even other dog sitting apps. I've been on them. Comparing a paycheck to an app isn't really even.

yes, it may make sense in terms of what else they do, but what people are saying is that in combination of everything (20%, no tip option, not moderating spam enough, etc.) it all adds up to a frustrating experience. I've had friends wait up to four days who have done it for months - unacceptable.

Door dash, instacart, ubereats are all services that pay INSTANTLY. When a tip is added or any modifications are done it happens the next business day. Simple Rover is taking way too much out and taking way too long to disperse those funds.
