House Sitter shift transfer?

I'm currently doing a house-sitting for 3 weeks, and I might need to go out of town for the coming weekend. The client is not reachable, but I have contact info for two of the client's friends.

Is it possible to arrange a "shift exchange" with another sitter within the rover website/ app? This way just transfer the pending payment for the days I would need to exchange? Or would i need to go through the booking process as a client myself (and "pay" for the days that I would need to exchange)?

Thank you! -Jacob

You need to contact Rover Customer Support. If I were a client, I would not want the sitter making arrangements on his own for someone I had not met to stay in my home.

Karen is right. It would be a potential liability issue in the case of emergency. The client took the time to book with you, and if your ability to commit to the stay has changed, it will likely need to be cancelled so that a sitter can take over. The client will receive a 100% refund for the days that you were not available, and a new sitter will take over the booking from there. If the owner is truly unavailable, and the reason for going out of town is an emergency, Rover Support would be able to help you find a suitable replacement. There is also the chance that Rover will suspend or deactivate your profile when you cancel on a client.
