Does my dog have cancer?

What are the warning signs of cancer in dogs? If I find a lump, does that mean my dog has cancer??

Comments

Cancer is normally a small hard bump. Like a frozen pee under there skin but it's always best to see your vet in situations like this.

Many dogs get fat deposits that appear as lumps, but if you want to know for sure, you will have to consult with your veterinarian. You can have it biopsied at your vet, and then they will be able to tell you what the lump is. However, getting a biopsy done on a lump is not a thorough cancer screening. You will need to review what other methods are used to check your dog for cancer as well. Hope this helps!

All the best,

a bump doesn't mean cancer it could be a ingrown hair or just a lump regardless check with your vet.

Older dogs often have bumps or it could be a bug bite or irritated skin, but the best way to make sure it's not something to worry about it to check with your vet. I had a dog pass away from stomach cancer a few years ago, he became very lethargic, stopped eating (and he LOVED his food), and started throwing up. No bumps, but this was stomach cancer and all dogs are different. Just keep an eye out for unusual behavior.
