Why does my dog eat used tampons?
This is really gross but my dog will often go into my trash and find used tampons to eat! Does anyone else's dog do this? Is this normal??

I have seen some dogs do this before and it can make one really uncomfortable. Have you ever taken your dog for a walk and they roll on or try to eat a dead animal? It is the same principle with the used tampon. Many people believe that this is an instinctual behavior from when they were wolves to mask their scent when hunting. It can be dangerous if they ingest a tampon though as it can expand in their stomach. Please call/see a vet right away if this happens.
