Why does my dog scratch the bed?

This probably is instinctual in nature, clearing a soft comfy spot - like a nest- to lay before lowering their bottom (before our dogs could count on humans to go buy them all the comforts we find) and not unlike our fluffing our own pillows. http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resour...
